Decode Focus is a tool that harnesses the power of advanced algorithms to analyze visual content and provides users with predictive heat maps and Fog Maps, offering a comprehensive view of how viewers interact with images and videos. Additionally, it furnishes key metrics such as Attention, Focus, Clarity, and Percentage Seen, enabling users to gain invaluable insights into audience engagement and content performance.

How Does Decode Focus Work?

  1. Upload Your Image or Video: Begin by uploading your content to Decode. Our system then analyzes the content and generates:some text
    • Heatmaps: These visualize areas of the image or video that are likely to capture the most attention and areas that may receive less attention, using a VIBGYOR color gradient.
    • Saliency Maps: Saliency Maps highlight sections that are likely to be viewed by your audience; this map will only show the areas actually viewed by users.
    • Fog Maps: Fog Maps are visual representations that highlight areas of a visual field or image where viewers experience low clarity or comprehension, indicating regions that may be confusing or unclear.
    • Areas of Interest (AOIs): Define specific regions within your content for an even deeper analysis of viewer engagement.
    • Data Points: Obtain concrete metrics on key areas like Attention, Focus, Clarity, and Percentage Seen for each uploaded creative. For definitions, visit: Decode Focus Metrics and Definitions.
    • Second-by-Second Analysis: This offers users deeper insights, elevating research to a new level of advanced data analysis.

Decode Focus analyzes your images and videos, generating insights that forecast viewer behavior. Here's how you can create a Decode Focus test in Decode using these simple steps:

  1. Log In: Once you log in to your Decode account, you will arrive on the dashboard.
  2. Open Research Page: On the left navigation panel, click on the “+” icon to open the research page.
  3. Select Decode Focus: Within the Research page, locate the Predictive Research section on the left panel and select "Decode Focus."
  4. Create Study: Click on the "Create Study" tile to initiate the study creation process.
  5. Upload Media: In the study creation interface, upload your image or video by either clicking the upload button or dragging and dropping the media. Supported formats include:some text
    • Image: PNG, JPG, JPEG
    • Video: MP4 The maximum file size allowed is 200 MB, and videos can be up to 2 minutes in duration.
  6. Preview Media: Upon uploading the media, a preview will be displayed in the right-hand section for your reference.
  7. Generate Insights: To generate insights, click the "Predict" button located at the top right corner of the interface.

View Insights: Once the media is processed, view the generated insights in the "Result" section, providing valuable data for analysis and optimization.

In Decode Focus, four distinct metrics are calculated: Attention, Focus Score, Clarity Score, and Percentage Seen. Each metric is defined as follows:

  • Attention: Quantifies the overall interest the stimuli has received. It is calculated based on the intensity of heat maps. If there are more intense regions, the attention value will be higher.
  • Focus Score: Quantifies the level of attention drawn by an image or video, indicating the consensus on its most captivating elements. Images/videos with numerous intriguing components tend to score lower, as attention disperses. Conversely, assets with fewer focal points garner higher scores, as viewer gazes converge on specific areas.
  • Clarity Score: Indicates how easily customers will understand your content. It helps you assess how clear your message or visuals are, allowing you to improve them for your audience.

Percentage Seen: Indicates the portion of an image that has been viewed, regardless of intensity values. It focuses on the percentage of the total area that a viewer would have observed.
