What is Qatalyst?

Qatalyst is an AI-integrated user research platform designed to help you make informed decisions about your products and services. With Qatalyst, you can conduct both moderated and unmoderated user research using various tools and technologies, including Eye Tracking, Facial Coding, and mouse movements. With our platform, you can gain a deep understanding of your users, their behaviours, and their preferences, enabling you to create products and services that meet their needs and exceed their expectations.

What do we offer?

Idea/concept validation - It is a process of gathering evidence around ideas through experimentation to make fast, informed and low-risk decisions. It is an essential part of UX research and a necessary step in creating successful products.

There are many different ways to validate ideas, but some of the most common methods include:

  • User Interviews: This is a great way to get direct feedback from potential users about your idea. You can ask them questions about their needs, pain points, and how they would use your product or service.
  • Usability Testing: This involves testing prototypes or early versions of your product with users to see how they interact with it. This can help you identify any usability problems and make sure that your product is easy to use.

Prototype Testing: Prototype testing is a method used in User Experience (UX) research to evaluate a prototype or a mock-up of a website or a feature before it is fully developed. This allows researchers and designers to test and refine the design early on before committing too much time and resources to a particular design direction. 

Usability Testing: Usability testing is a technique used in user-centred interaction design to evaluate a product by testing it on users. This can be seen as an irreplaceable usability practice since it gives direct input on how real users use the system. Content/Copy Testing: Copy/content testing refers to the process of evaluating and optimizing the written content or copy used in a product, website, app, or any other user interface. The primary goal of copy/content testing is to ensure that the language, tone, and messaging resonate with the target audience, effectively communicate the intended message, and support the overall user experience. 

Journey Mapping: Journey mapping is a method used to visually represent and understand the user's experience as they interact with a product, service, or system. It involves mapping out the entire user journey, from the initial point of contact to the final outcome or goal. The main objective of journey mapping is to understand how users are using the navigation system of your product to accomplish the task and if your information architecture is correct or not.

App and Website Testing: Website/app testing in UX research is a crucial process of evaluating the usability and user experience of a website or mobile application. It involves observing users as they interact with the website or app to identify potential issues, gather feedback, and gain insights into how to improve the overall user experience. The primary goal of website/app testing is to ensure that the digital product is intuitive, efficient and meets the needs and expectations of its target users.

Types of UX Testing in Qatalyst

5-Second Testing - The 5-second test is a type of UX research that involves showing users a screenshot or a design for 5 seconds and then asking them questions about what they remember or what they think the design is about. The idea is to simulate a user's first impression of a website or app and capture their immediate reactions.

A/B Testing - A/B testing is a technique used to compare two versions of a design to determine which one performs better. In UX research, this technique is used to compare two different designs or variations of the same design to understand which one performs better in terms of user behaviour, engagement, and conversion.

Preference Testing  - Preference testing is a type of research that helps businesses understand what their customers like and prefer. It involves showing different design variants to people and asking them which one they like the most. By doing this, businesses can learn their customer's preferences and make decisions about how to improve their product to meet their customers' needs better.

Prototype Testing - Prototype testing is a type of testing that involves evaluating a preliminary version of a product to identify design flaws and gather feedback from users or stakeholders. The goal of prototype testing is to improve the product's design, functionality, and user experience before it is released to the market. Prototype testing helps users refine their ideas and concepts before investing time and resources in the final product, saving time and money and ensuring the product meets the needs and expectations of users.

Card Sort - Card sorting is a valuable user research technique used to understand how individuals organize information mentally. Through card sorting, analysts can gain valuable insights into how users perceive relationships between concepts and how they expect information to be organized. These insights, in turn, inform the design and structure of websites, applications, and other information systems, leading to enhanced usability and an improved user experience.

Tree Test - Tree testing is a UX research method used to evaluate the findability and effectiveness of a website or app's information architecture. It involves testing the navigational structure of a product without the influence of visual design, navigation aids, or other elements that may distract or bias users. By conducting tree testing, we aim to address the fundamental question, "Can users find what they are looking for?" This research technique allows us to evaluate the effectiveness of our information architecture and assess whether users can navigate through the content intuitively, locate specific topics, and comprehend the overall structure of our product.

Live Website Testing - Live website testing refers to the practice of conducting usability testing or user testing on a live and functioning website. This type of testing is done to gather insights and feedback from users as they interact with the website in its actual environment within a predefined time. Live App Testing - Live app testing involves the process of conducting usability assessments on any live application available in the Play Store in real time. You can set up your workspace in Qatalyst using your email ID, Google account or Microsoft account. In this article, we will guide you through the steps of setting up your account in Qatalyst.

Steps

Step 1: Go to the Qatalyst website using the URL:https://getqatalyst.io/signup. 

Step 2: You will be prompted to enter your email address and create a password if you are signing up using your email ID, or you can choose to sign up using your Google account, Microsoft account or Amazon account.

Step 3: If you choose to set up your account using your Email ID, a verification code will be sent to your email ID; enter the verification code and proceed.

If you select the Microsoft or Google sign-up process, the verification code step will be skipped.

Step 4: Once the code is verified, you can set up your workspace. A workspace can be defined as your virtual space for conducting research. Also, choose the data centre from the dropdown based on the nearest region to your location and your name. Click on "Create Workspace".

Step 5: Post successful workspace creation, you will be redirected to the login page to initiate the sign-in process. Enter your email ID and your created password, and click submit.

After successfully signing in, you will land on the Qatalyst home page. Signing up for Qatalyst is quick and easy and provides you with powerful tools to help you gain insights into user behaviour and preferences. Using Qatalyst, you can create user-centred designs optimized for success and stay ahead of the competition.

Overview

Upon receiving an invitation from a Qatalyst user, you will find an invite in your email. This article aims to provide you with a comprehensive walkthrough of the sign-up process using the invite link.

Steps

Step 1: Open the mail you received for the invite and click the "Login" button. In the same mail, you will find your workspace name as well.

Note: You should find the invite mail in your inbox. In case you don’t find it there, check your spam folder. 

Step 2: Once you click the button, you will be redirected to the Qatalyst sign-up page. Your email ID will be automatically added to the form; you will need to create a password.

After successfully adding the password click on the "Send Verification Code" button.

Step 3: You will receive a verification code in the same email ID; please enter the code and click on the verify button.

Step 4: After successful verification, you will be directed to the sign-in page, where you can log in using the same email ID and the password you created.

Step 5: Once you choose an account and the account is connected to Qatalyst, you will be redirected to Qatalyst to enter a unique workspace name. Also, you need to choose the data centre from the dropdown based on the nearest region to your location and add your name.

Step 7: Your workspace will now be successfully created. Post that, you will be redirected to the login page to initiate the sign-in process. Enter your email ID and the password that you have created, and click on login.

Sign-up using Microsoft account

Step 3: If your device already has a Microsoft account added, a list of the account will be shown to you. Choose an account from the list that you wish to sign up with. You could alternatively connect with your Microsoft account from this screen.

Step 4: Once you sign in with your Microsoft account, you will be redirected to Qatalyst to enter a unique workspace name. Also, you need to choose the data centre from the dropdown based on the nearest region to your location and add your name.

Step 6: Click “Create Workspace”.

Step 7: Your workspace is successfully created. Post that, you will be redirected to the login page to initiate the sign-in process. Enter your email id and the password that you have created, and click on login.

Overview

Inviting users to join your platform is an essential part of conducting research studies and building a robust research community. In this article, we'll provide you with step-by-step instructions for inviting users to Qatalyst.

Steps

Step 1: Once you log into your Qatalyst account, you will be navigated to your home page.

Step 2: Click on the settings icon from the navigation bar on the left.

Step 3: You will be taken to the settings page, where the user page will open by default. Here, you will find a list of users, as well as an "Invite User" button.

Step 4: Click on the invite button. A form will open on the screen where you can specify the email address and the role of the user.

Currently, we support two roles: 

Admin: An admin can perform all the actions on the platform.

Editor: With limited access to the platform, an editor cannot perform the below actions: 

  • Delete a study 
  • View the Subscription/ billing page 
  • Deactivate other users
  • View the Settings 
  • Invite the users

You can invite multiple users at a time. Just click on the "+Add User" button and invite multiple users at once.

Step 5: Once done, click on the "Send Invitation" button. The user will receive an email invitation with the signup link.

Note: You can now resend invites to users who were invited to Decode but hadn't signed up on the platform.

What is a Demo Mode?

Demo Mode is an exciting feature that allows you to explore the research-creation part in Qatalyst without worrying about making any permanent changes or affecting your data. It's a safe and controlled environment where you can freely interact with the platform's functionalities and get a feel for how everything works.

When you use Demo Mode, you'll be taken to the "Library" section, where you find a few UX studies existing already. You can click around, interact with things, and get a feel for how everything functions, just like you would in the real version.

What can you do in Demo Mode?

While in Demo Mode, you can:

  • Explore Blocks: Interact with our platform's versatile Blocks to create captivating UX studies.
  • Learn with Confidence: Use Demo Mode as a safe learning tool without fear of mistakes.
  • View Insights: Discover powerful data-driven insights from active and closed studies.

How to Enable Demo Mode

To enable Demo Mode, follow the below steps: 

Step 1: Once you log into your Qatalyst account, you will be directed to the dashboard.

Step 2: From the navigation panel available on the left side of the dashboard, click on the "Demo Mode" button.

Step 3: Your Demo Mode will be activated, and you will taken to the library page, where you will find a few studies already created. You can open the study, explore various blocks and view the insights as well.

Once you enter the demo mode, a yellow frame will appear on your screen. 

Step 4: To exit the Demo Mode, simply click anywhere outside the yellow frame or in the Demo Mode button available at the top of the screen.

Qatalyst offers a robust solution to protect your tenant through 2-factor authentication. This extra layer of security ensures that your access to the platform remains safe and secure. In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of enabling 2-factor authentication for your tenant and how it works.

How to Enable 2-Factor Authentication on Your Tenant

Step 1: Log in to the Platform, and you will arrive at the platform's dashboard.

Step 2: To enable 2-factor authentication, navigate to the "Settings" section. This is where you can configure various security settings tailored to your needs.

Step 3: Within the "Settings" menu, you will find the "Workspace" option. Click on this option, and you'll discover the toggle button that allows you to enable 2-factor authentication. Activate this feature to add an extra layer of security to your tenant.

How 2-Factor Authentication Works

Once you've successfully enabled 2-factor authentication, here's how the process works to safeguard your Qatalyst account:

1. Authentication Setup: After enabling 2-factor authentication, all users will be prompted to set it up when they login to the platform. During the setup process, they will be shown a unique QR code that they need to scan using any authenticator app of their choice. Popular apps for this purpose include Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and Authy.

2. Receiving the Unique Authentication Code:
Upon scanning the QR code with their chosen authenticator app, users will receive a unique authentication code associated with their Qatalyst account. This code is time-sensitive and changes at regular intervals to enhance security.

3. Logging In Securely:
With 2-factor authentication enabled, users will be required to enter the current authentication code from their authenticator app every time they log in to the platform. This additional layer of security ensures that even if someone gains access to their login credentials, they won't be able to log in without the current authentication code.

With our Panel Management feature, you have the flexibility to build your own custom panel within the platform. This means you can curate a group of individuals who will be your go-to audience for test sharing, whether they are existing Qatalyst users or not.

What is a Panel?

A panel, in the context of Qatalyst, is a selected group of individuals who will participate in your tests. These individuals can be Qatalyst users or non-Qatalyst users, making it a versatile feature for all your testing needs.

You can invite users manually, using an invitation page that you can create using Qatalyst. Alternatively, if you have a list, just import them!

Creating Your Panel

Here's how to create and manage your own panel on Qatalyst:

Step 1: Access the Panel Management Feature

  • Log in to your Qatalyst account.
  • On the navigation panel, look for the "Panel Management" option. Click on it to access the panel management feature.

Step 2: Building Your Panel

Inside the Panel Management feature, you'll find an option to add participants to your panel. Click on the "Add Participants" button.

Step 3: Inviting Panel Members

Now, it's time to populate your panel with the users you want to invite. Qatalyst offers three convenient methods for doing this:

  1. Manual Invite
  1. Invite via Link
  1. Import from CSV

Method 1: Manual Invitation

Enter the basic details like the name, email address, role, company and location of the users you want to invite. You can invite multiple users at once, and then send the invitations.

Method 2: Invite via Link

On the Qatalyst platform, you can create a webpage for inviting users by adding your personal branding or messages.

While inviting the participants, you can directly share the link with the people you want to invite.

Method 3: Importing Users

If you have a list of users you'd like to invite, Qatalyst makes it easy to import them. Click on the "Import From CSV" option.

Follow the prompts to upload your user list. After successful upload, the users will be added to the panel.

Step 4: Managing Your Panel

Once you've created your panel and invited members, you can easily manage it from the Panel Management section. This includes adding, updating or removing users. 

With Qatalyst's Panel Management feature, creating and managing your own panel has never been more straightforward. You have full control over who participates in your tests, allowing you to tailor your testing experience to your specific needs.

How to share tests with your panel

While sharing the test using the share tab, you will find an additional option for sharing it with your panel. 

Upon selecting this option, a list of users who have been added to your panel will be displayed. You have the flexibility to choose specific individuals or select all of them.

After selecting the users, click on the "Compose and Send" button, and a pop-up will appear where you can customize the email template too. Once you've fine-tuned the message to your satisfaction, click the "Send" button, and the email will be promptly dispatched to the chosen recipients.

In Qatalyst, we support 3rd party panel integration. Using this, you can effortlessly expand your reach and share your surveys with a larger, more diverse audience. We've made it easy for you to integrate Qatalyst with leading panel providers. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to set up 3rd party panel integration and maximize the potential of your research.

These providers have extensive networks of potential survey respondents, ensuring that your surveys reach individuals with various backgrounds, demographics, and interests. This diversity enhances the representativeness of your data, making it more valuable for your research objectives.

Traditional participant recruitment methods can be time-consuming and resource-intensive. 3rd party panel integration streamlines the process, allowing you to find survey participants quickly and efficiently. This efficiency saves you valuable time and resources that can be better utilized in other aspects of your research.

Supported Panel Providers

Qatalyst supports integration with the following major panel providers:

  • Dynata: A global leader in first-party data and data services. Dynata offers access to a vast and diverse group of respondents.
  • Cint (coming soon): Known for its market research solutions, Cint provides access to a broad spectrum of survey participants, ensuring your surveys reach the right audience.
  • P2P (coming soon): A trusted panel provider with a wide range of demographic and geographic targeting options, P2P offers the flexibility to tailor your survey audience to your specific needs.

Setting Up 3rd Party Panel Integration in Qatalyst

Follow these steps to integrate Qatalyst with a 3rd party panel provider:

Step 1: Log in to Your Qatalyst Account - Access your Qatalyst account using your credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to the Audience Section - Open the study for which you want to establish panel integration and navigate to the audience section.

Step 3: Fill in the details - In the Audiences page, fill in the following details:

  • Panel Name: Give your panel a name to easily identify it.
  • Panel: Select the 3rd party panel provider you want to integrate with (e.g., Dynata, Cint, or P2P). For now, only Dynata is available.
  • Panel Category: Choose the appropriate category for your test.
  • No. of Completes: Specify the desired number of completed survey responses.
  • Estimated Length of Interview: Indicate the expected duration of the test.
  • Field Days: Define the period during which your survey will be active.
  • Device: Select the preferred device type for test participation.
  • Personal Information: Depending on your needs, you can further customize your survey audience by applying specific targeting options provided by the panel provider.

Step 4: Save your Panel - Once you have filled in the details, save the panel.

Step 5: Check Feasibility

  • After successfully saving the panel, you can also assess the estimated cost of your survey by clicking on the "Check Feasibility" button.
  • This will provide you with the cost estimation based on factors such as the region, the number of respondents, and other relevant parameters.

Step 6: Launch Your Survey - Once everything is set up, you're ready to launch your survey and start collecting valuable data from a broader audience.

To upload a Figma file for prototype testing, ensure that the file meets the criteria listed below.

  • Ensure the link is public.
  • There should be only one starting node, with no independent nodes, or all the nodes are connected.
  • Include at least 2 interactive nodes—one for the starting node and another for the end node. They cannot be the same node.
  • Avoid high-quality images; instead, use components from within Figma to prevent potential loading issues in the future, as mentioned by Figma.
  • Avoid using loose components or nodes; simplify to test feature usability.

What is a Redirect URL?

Third-party redirects in surveys involve directing respondents to an external website or platform during the survey process. This is usually achieved by embedding a redirect link within the survey link, which seamlessly transfers the respondent to the external site or platform.

Types of Redirect URL:

Note: The URL's are separated using the "&" symbol

1. Complete URL: This is the URL where respondents will be redirected after successfully completing a test in Qatalyst. If users need to transfer respondents to another system after successfully finishing a test, this is the URL to be configured.

Step 2: You will be prompted to enter your email address and create a password if you are signing up using your email ID, or you can choose to sign up using your Google account, Microsoft account or Amazon account.

Step 3: If you choose to set up your account using your Email ID, a verification code will be sent to your email ID; enter the verification code and proceed.

If you select the Microsoft or Google sign-up process, the verification code step will be skipped.

Step 4: Once the code is verified, you can set up your workspace. A workspace can be defined as your virtual space for conducting research. Also, choose the data centre from the dropdown based on the nearest region to your location and your name. Click on "Create Workspace".

Step 5: Post successful workspace creation, you will be redirected to the login page to initiate the sign-in process. Enter your email ID and your created password, and click submit.

After successfully signing in, you will land on the Qatalyst home page. Signing up for Qatalyst is quick and easy and provides you with powerful tools to help you gain insights into user behaviour and preferences. How to sign-up using invite link?

Overview

When a Decode user extends an invitation for you to join the platform, you'll receive an email from the address hello@getdecode.io. This article is designed to walk you through the step-by-step process of signing up using the invite link provided in the email.

Steps

Step 1: Open the mail you received for the invite and click the "Sign Up" button. In the mail, you will find other information like the user who invited you, Workspace name, Organization name and steps to proceed further.

💡 You will find the invite mail in your inbox. In case you don't find it there, kindly check your spam folder.

Step 2: Once you click on the "Sign Up" button, you will be redirected to the Decode's sign-up page. Your email id will be automatically added to the form. You will need to create a password.

After successfully adding the details, click the "Send Verification Code" button.

Step 3: Once done, you will receive a verification code in the same email ID. Please enter the code and click on the verify button.

Step 4: After successful verification, you will be directed to the sign-in page, where you can log in using the same email ID and the password you created.

Sign-up using google account

How to invite users to Qatalyst?

Overview

Inviting users to join your platform is an essential part of conducting research studies and building a robust research community. In this article, we'll provide you with step-by-step instructions for inviting users to Qatalyst.

Steps

Step 1: Once you log into your Qatalyst account, you will be navigated to your home page.

Step 2: Click on the settings icon from the navigation bar on the left.

Step 3: You will be taken to the settings page, where the user page will open by default. Here, you will find a list of users, as well as an "Invite User" button.

Step 4: Click on the invite button. A form will open on the screen where you can specify the email address and the role of the user.

Currently, we support two roles: 

Admin: An admin can perform all the actions on the platform.

Editor: With limited access to the platform, an editor cannot perform the below actions: 

  • Delete a study 
  • View the Subscription/ billing page 
  • Deactivate other users
  • View the Settings 
  • Invite the users

You can invite multiple users at a time. Just click on the "+Add User" button and invite multiple users at once.

Step 5: Once done, click on the "Send Invitation" button. The user will receive an email invitation with the signup link.

Demo Mode in Qatalyst

What is a Demo Mode?

Demo Mode is an exciting feature that allows you to explore the research-creation part in Qatalyst without worrying about making any permanent changes or affecting your data. It's a safe and controlled environment where you can freely interact with the platform's functionalities and get a feel for how everything works.

When you use Demo Mode, you'll be taken to the "Library" section, where you find a few UX studies existing already. You can click around, interact with things, and get a feel for how everything functions, just like you would in the real version.

What can you do in Demo Mode?

While in Demo Mode, you can:

  • Explore Blocks: Interact with our platform's versatile Blocks to create captivating UX studies.
  • Learn with Confidence: Use Demo Mode as a safe learning tool without fear of mistakes.
  • View Insights: Discover powerful data-driven insights from active and closed studies.

How to Enable Demo Mode

To enable Demo Mode, follow the below steps: 

Step 1: Once you log into your Qatalyst account, you will be directed to the dashboard.

Step 2: From the navigation panel available on the left side of the dashboard, click on the "Demo Mode" button.

Step 3: Your Demo Mode will be activated, and you will taken to the library page, where you will find a few studies already created. You can open the study, explore various blocks and view the insights as well.

Once you enter the demo mode, a yellow frame will appear on your screen. 

Step 4: To exit the Demo Mode, simply click anywhere outside the yellow frame or in the Demo Mode button available at the top of the screen.

2-Factor Authentication in Qatalyst

Qatalyst offers a robust solution to protect your tenant through 2-factor authentication. This extra layer of security ensures that your access to the platform remains safe and secure. In this guide, we'll walk you through the process of enabling 2-factor authentication for your tenant and how it works.

How to Enable 2-Factor Authentication on Your Tenant

Step 1: Log in to the Platform, and you will arrive at the platform's dashboard.

Step 2: To enable 2-factor authentication, navigate to the "Settings" section. This is where you can configure various security settings tailored to your needs.

Step 3: Within the "Settings" menu, you will find the "Workspace" option. Click on this option, and you'll discover the toggle button that allows you to enable 2-factor authentication. Activate this feature to add an extra layer of security to your tenant.

How 2-Factor Authentication Works

Once you've successfully enabled 2-factor authentication, here's how the process works to safeguard your Qatalyst account:

1. Authentication Setup: After enabling 2-factor authentication, all users will be prompted to set it up when they login to the platform. During the setup process, they will be shown a unique QR code that they need to scan using any authenticator app of their choice. Popular apps for this purpose include Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and Authy.

2. Receiving the Unique Authentication Code:
Upon scanning the QR code with their chosen authenticator app, users will receive a unique authentication code associated with their Qatalyst account. This code is time-sensitive and changes at regular intervals to enhance security.

3. Logging In Securely:
With 2-factor authentication enabled, users will be required to enter the current authentication code from their authenticator app every time they log in to the platform. This additional layer of security ensures that even if someone gains access to their login credentials, they won't be able to log in without the current authentication code.

Panel Management in Qatalyst - Create your own Panel

With our Panel Management feature, you have the flexibility to build your own custom panel within the platform. This means you can curate a group of individuals who will be your go-to audience for test sharing, whether they are existing Qatalyst users or not.

What is a Panel?

A panel, in the context of Qatalyst, is a selected group of individuals who will participate in your tests. These individuals can be Qatalyst users or non-Qatalyst users, making it a versatile feature for all your testing needs.

You can invite users manually, using an invitation page that you can create using Qatalyst. Alternatively, if you have a list, just import them!

Creating Your Panel

Here's how to create and manage your own panel on Qatalyst:

Step 1: Access the Panel Management Feature

  • Log in to your Qatalyst account.
  • On the navigation panel, look for the "Panel Management" option. Click on it to access the panel management feature.

Step 2: Building Your Panel

Inside the Panel Management feature, you'll find an option to add participants to your panel. Click on the "Add Participants" button.

Step 3: Inviting Panel Members

Now, it's time to populate your panel with the users you want to invite. Qatalyst offers three convenient methods for doing this:

Method 1: Manual Invitation

Enter the basic details like the name, email address, role, company and location of the users you want to invite. You can invite multiple users at once, and then send the invitations.

Method 2: Invite via Link

On the Qatalyst platform, you can create a webpage for inviting users by adding your personal branding or messages.

While inviting the participants, you can directly share the link with the people you want to invite.

Method 3: Importing Users

If you have a list of users you'd like to invite, Qatalyst makes it easy to import them. Click on the "Import From CSV" option.

Follow the prompts to upload your user list. After successful upload, the users will be added to the panel.

Step 4: Managing Your Panel

Once you've created your panel and invited members, you can easily manage it from the Panel Management section. This includes adding, updating or removing users. 

With Qatalyst's Panel Management feature, creating and managing your own panel has never been more straightforward. You have full control over who participates in your tests, allowing you to tailor your testing experience to your specific needs.

How to share tests with your panel

While sharing the test using the share tab, you will find an additional option for sharing it with your panel. 

Upon selecting this option, a list of users who have been added to your panel will be displayed. You have the flexibility to choose specific individuals or select all of them.

After selecting the users, click on the "Compose and Send" button, and a pop-up will appear where you can customize the email template too. Once you've fine-tuned the message to your satisfaction, click the "Send" button, and the email will be promptly dispatched to the chosen recipients.

Panel Integration in Qatalyst

In Qatalyst, we support 3rd party panel integration. Using this, you can effortlessly expand your reach and share your surveys with a larger, more diverse audience. We've made it easy for you to integrate Qatalyst with leading panel providers. This guide will walk you through the simple steps to set up 3rd party panel integration and maximize the potential of your research.

Traditional participant recruitment methods can be time-consuming and resource-intensive. 3rd party panel integration streamlines the process, allowing you to find survey participants quickly and efficiently. Supported Panel Providers

Qatalyst supports integration with the following major panel providers:

  • Dynata: A global leader in first-party data and data services. Dynata offers access to a vast and diverse group of respondents.
  • Cint (coming soon): Known for its market research solutions, Cint provides access to a broad spectrum of survey participants, ensuring your surveys reach the right audience.
  • P2P (coming soon): A trusted panel provider with a wide range of demographic and geographic targeting options, P2P offers the flexibility to tailor your survey audience to your specific needs.

Setting Up 3rd Party Panel Integration in Qatalyst

Follow these steps to integrate Qatalyst with a 3rd party panel provider:

Step 1: Log in to Your Qatalyst Account - Access your Qatalyst account using your credentials.

Step 2: Navigate to the Audience Section - Open the study for which you want to establish panel integration and navigate to the audience section.

Step 3: Fill in the details - In the Audiences page, fill in the following details:

  • Panel Name: Give your panel a name to easily identify it.
  • Panel: Select the 3rd party panel provider you want to integrate with (e.g., Dynata, Cint, or P2P). For now, only Dynata is available.
  • Panel Category: Choose the appropriate category for your test.
  • No. of Completes: Specify the desired number of completed survey responses.
  • Estimated Length of Interview: Indicate the expected duration of the test.
  • Field Days: Define the period during which your survey will be active.
  • Device: Select the preferred device type for test participation.
  • Personal Information: Depending on your needs, you can further customize your survey audience by applying specific targeting options provided by the panel provider.

Step 4: Save your Panel - Once you have filled in the details, save the panel.

Step 5: Check Feasibility

  • After successfully saving the panel, you can also assess the estimated cost of your survey by clicking on the "Check Feasibility" button.
  • This will provide you with the cost estimation based on factors such as the region, the number of respondents, and other relevant parameters.

Step 6: Launch Your Survey - Once everything is set up, you're ready to launch your survey and start collecting valuable data from a broader audience.

Figma file Criteria

To upload a Figma file for prototype testing, ensure that the file meets the criteria listed below.

  • Ensure the link is public.
  • There should be only one starting node, with no independent nodes, or all the nodes are connected.
  • Include at least 2 interactive nodes—one for the starting node and another for the end node. They cannot be the same node.
  • Avoid high-quality images; instead, use components from within Figma to prevent potential loading issues in the future, as mentioned by Figma.
  • Avoid using loose components or nodes; simplify to test feature usability.

Third Party Redirection

What is a Redirect URL?

Third-party redirects in surveys involve directing respondents to an external website or platform during the survey process. This is usually achieved by embedding a redirect link within the survey link, which seamlessly transfers the respondent to the external site or platform.

1. Complete URL: This is the URL where respondents will be redirected after successfully completing a test in Qatalyst. If users need to transfer respondents to another system after successfully finishing a test, this is the URL to be configured.

2. Error URL: This is the URL that respondents are re-directed to in case their test gets aborted in Qatalyst. Tests can get aborted for reasons such as: 

  • The respondent reloads a page or navigates away from a test screen.
  • The respondent's camera or audio fails.
  • The respondent faces network issues.

3. Tester URL: This URL can be used to generate a unique link for each tester, allowing for full customization. Users can pass specific variables according to their requirements, along with the tester URL, to facilitate tracking and monitoring.

Note: If no complete URL or error URL is available, the tester URL details can be retrieved from the backend.

4. Source: This parameter indicates the source from which the tester accessed the test and includes predefined values such as Direct, QR, Email, and Panel. However, it can also be customized to meet specific requirements.
